The Pineapple
Near Stirling
About the property
This bizarre structure, in the shape of a pineapple, was built in 1761 as a garden retreat. The policies are now an oasis for wildlife. Take a walk in the walled garden, where an orchard of crab-apple trees has been planted. Or enjoy a peaceful walk around the pond and through the surrounding woodland. There is an all-ability path which leads from the car park to a pond viewing platform, where, if you are lucky, you may catch a glimpse of the rare great crested newt. The Trust maintains the gardens and policies, and the building is leased to the Landmark Trust.
