William Gordon, a successful Liverpool businessman, bought the estate in 1867, and built the impressive sandstone house that dominates the 64-acre garden. Today Threave is famous for its spectacular gardens, beautiful house and superb Visitor Centre, all of which can be used for corporate and private events.
