Angus & The Kingdom of Fife

Angus & Fife sit on the North Sea Coast, with Angus to the north and Fife to the south.

The area runs south from the beautiful hills and glens fringing the southern Cairngorm Mountains, through Lowland fields and woods, past the Firth of Tay, and on through more rich farmland to the north shore of Firth of Forth. To the east is the North Sea and to the west the farmland of Perthshire and Stirling.

If walking, climbing, cycling or car touring are for you, then you should visit the beautiful Angus Glens (valleys) of Esk, Lethnot, Clova, Doll, Prossen and Isla.

Alternatively, there are numerous beautiful and historic villages and towns in the low country: towns like Brechin, Kirriemuir, and Forfar in Angus and Cupar, Falkland and Dunfermline in Fife. Castles and historic properties like Glamis Castle and Falkland Palace abound, and there are some wonderful museums, not least Discovery Point, Dundee, home to Scott of the Antarctic’s ship, RRS Discovery.

Finally, you can follow the magnificent coastline that stretches all the way from Kincardine on the Firth of Forth to Montrose in the north. Stroll on golden beaches or rocky headlands, explore the many picturesque fishing villages and towns like Culross, Elie, Pittenweem, Anstruther, Crail, St Andrews, Tayport, Broughty Ferry, Arbroath and Montrose, or perhaps play some of the world’s most iconic links golf courses like St Andrews and Carnoustie.
