Castle Stuart Golf Course
Near Inverness
Opened in 2009, Castle Stuart Golf Course has already earned itself a reputation as one of the World’s great links courses. Castle Stuart was voted the Best New Course for 2009 by Golf Magazine USA, while Ron Whitten, writing in the December 2010 issue of Golf Digest USA, stated that “Castle Stuart might be the most perfectly conceived and executed design ever built.”
The championship links course overlooks the Moray Firth and well-known landmarks that are synonymous with Inverness and the Black Isle: Kessock Bridge and Chanonry Lighthouse perhaps the most notable.
Cottages and Castles has a wide range of cottages, large houses and castles in the Castle Stuart area.
Castle Stuart’s first goal for the Golf Course sets the scene perfectly: The course should elicit anticipation and hopefulness in players of all skill levels; let it test one’s perceptual ability, judgment, decision-making, shot-making, and emotional poise; let it not be difficult for the sake of being difficult, rather let it be interesting and engaging. It does all of this and more.
No wonder that Castle Stuart is the new home of the European Tour’s Barclays Scottish Open which runs from the 7th to 10th July in 2011.
Castle Stuart Golf Course is a pay-and-play course, all bookings being made direct with the course.
If you are a keen golfer you should give Highland golf some serious thought. Castle Stuart is only one of a number of outstanding links courses fringing the Moray Firth, from giants like Royal Dornoch and Nairn (to host the 2012 Curtis Cup) to hidden gems like Brora, Golspie, Tain, Fortrose & Rosemarkie and Lossiemouth. You can also enjoy some lovely inland courses like Boat of Garten, Aviemore’s Spey Valley course and Strathpeffer. All can be reached with ease from any point within the area and we have a wide range of wonderful properties – cottages, large houses and castles – on offer.
Open: April to November
