Cairngorm Ski Conditions

Run Conditions: Fresh, overnight snow had improved the conditions. We have fresh, powder snow on a firm base. Snowsports in the Ptarmigan Bowl and Ciste Fairway were excellent as are the run from the top to middle via the traverse, Coire Cas and the Gunbarrel. The top two Zig Zags have good cover, but the bottom two are broken, although with the continued snowfall the narrow runs are starting to gain some width. It is bitterly cold at the top and more snow is forecast for the coming few days. The Army Championships will be held on the 105 in the morning. We hope to reopen it early in the afternoon. Current weather at 1097m: Current weather: Dry and bright with fresh laying snow, Wind N 30 mph, temp at 900m -6C Weather forecast: Forecast for Monday: Scattered snow showers at most levels, by late afternoon merging into a spell of persistent snow. Blizzard conditions possible later. Temperature at 900m: -5C to -7C Windspeed: N or NW 15-20mph, later 25-30mph Road Status: ROAD OPEN Maximum vert descent: 400m News from the slopes The first funicular train up is at 9.00, with the last train up at 15.45, and the last train down at 16.30. The VANS Terrain park is closed for the next few days to relocate the features and redress the Piste conditions. The sledge park is closed. Due to streams and uneven ground under the snowpack, and for general safety on the pistes we do not allow customers to bring their own sledges up on the Funicular. Lift status: 1: Funicular Railway - Open 2: Car Park T-bar - Closed 3: Fiacaill Ridge Poma - Closed 4: Sheiling Platter Poma - Closed 5: Coire Cas T-bar - Open 6: M1 Poma - Closed 7: White Lady T-bar - Closed 8: Coire na Ciste T-Bar - Open 9: Trainer Tow 1 - Open 10: Ptarmigan T-Bar - Expected to open 11: West Wall Poma - Closed 12: Day Lodge Poma - Closed Last update: Mon, 03 Mar 2008 11:07:00 GMT
