Ardmarnoch is a beautiful boutique coastal estate, with views over hills, loch and land. Less than 2 hours drive from Glasgow. The three houses are part of the 700 acre sporting estate. All have stunning views out to Loch Fyne, with three miles of coastline and private bays.

Guests may visit the one acre walled garden, the Arboretum, stroll through the native oak woods, admire the view from the bay, visit the Iron Age Fort and the Neolithic burial chamber. Abundant wildlife. Over 110 varieties of birds. Seals, otters, deer and much more. Fishing, clay pigeon shooting, walks and safaris. Games room with full size snooker table.

On arrival, a warm welcome from our resident housekeeper. Tea, coffee, home-made shortbread, fresh eggs and flowers. Home cooked meals available.

Swallows Nest sleeps 6, Dovecote House sleeps 8, Bucks House sleeps 4. Dovecote House & Bucks House may be booked together to accommodate larger parties, giving a total capacity of 12

Situated in the estate’s beautiful old stone build courtyard, Dovecote House is extremely spacious and welcoming making it ideal for families or a group of friends wishing to explore this lovely part of the Cowal Peninsula.  Named after the nesting doves that can be seen from the windows, this charming, well presented holiday home enjoys a fabulous position and is attached to Bucks House. The wonderful large dining room comfortably seats 12 and creates the perfect gathering place for memorable holiday dining and daytime family activities.  Full height double doors lead through to the elegant and extremely comfortable sitting room with large deep sofas, an abundance of cushions and a log burning stove which adds to its warmth and charm.  The newly fitted, fully equipped kitchen has stylish flag-stone floors and will appeal to those who love to cook and all the bedrooms offer lots of space and character, each with an en-suite bathroom and stunning views over the garden and down to the shores Loch Fyne.

The grounds surrounding this lovely house are extensive with lawns, waterfalls and woodland to explore.  This is paradise for both children and adults with so much to do and see.  The beautiful walled garden is a delight with many different types of fruit, vegetables and plants thriving in the mild Argyll climate.

Activities

The estate offers numerous opportunities whether it is enjoying the beautiful walled garden, strolling through the oak woods, relaxing on the small stretch of private beach or visiting the Iron Age fort and Neolithic burial chamber.   As well as being home to hens, geese, highland cows and pigs, there is abundant wildlife to spot including many species of birds, seals, otters, deer and much more.  This is an ideal base for the keen walker, painter or photographer with miles of unspoilt countryside to explore.  The estate can also offer trout fishing, sea fishing, clay pigeon shooting, night time safaris (wonderful for children) and other seasonal sports. 

The nearby village of Tighnabruaich has a much to offer with a 9 hole golf course, tennis court, sailing school, canoeing, scuba diving, beaches, angling, and endless walks and cycle routes.  There are many day trips on offer including catching a ferry from Portavadie to the picturesque fishing village of Tarbert on the Kintyre Peninsula which offers wonderful seafood and stunning coast line. The magical Isle of Bute is also only a short ferry trip away offering many places of interest and the historic town of Inveraray is within easy reach and has many attractions including Inveraray Castle (home to the Duke of Argyll), Inveraray Jail, The Maritime Museum and The Bell tower.
