Ardachearnbeg Farm Cottages, set in the heart of the stunning Cowal Peninsula, is an ideal spot for getting away from it all and unwinding to the local Argyll pace. Surrounded by beautiful Scottish hills in a quiet secluded position, these charming holiday cottages were once the outbuildings of a traditional 18th Century farm and have now been fully renovated to provide a high standard of modern self-catering accommodation. This naturally beautiful area is a wildlife haven and birdwatchers paradise giving the opportunity to spot many birds of prey, eagles, deer, seals, otters and an increasing number of dolphins.
Also available: The Stables (sleeps 4), The Hayloft (sleeps 4), Dairy Cottage (sleeps 4 + 1)The Steadings (being The Stables, The Hayloft & The Haven) have connecting doors and may be booked together to accommodate larger parties, giving a total capacity of 14 in these self catering holiday cottages.
The Haven is a lovely spacious holiday home with a wonderfully welcoming and relaxed feel to it. Throughout it is well furnished and fully equipped with everything you could need to make your holiday comfortable and enjoyable. The large, inviting open plan living room creates the heart of the house and makes an ideal gathering place for family or friends after a day exploring this beautiful area of Argyll. As well as two bright and well presented bedrooms upstairs, there is also a conveniently located ground floor twin bedroom and bathroom for guests who may prefer not to climb stairs.
All ages will love the peace and freedom of the lovely surrounding garden and the trickling burn that runs through it – families will enjoy hours of fun playing pooh sticks under the little foot bridge and the small private patio area is perfect for relaxed summertime meals.

Activities
There are endless beautiful walks and cycle trails from the door including the woodland and waterfall walk to the historic ruins of Dunans Castle which sits at the head of Glendaruel and the local Kilmodan Church has an interesting collection of west highland carved stones. A permit for salmon & sea trout fishing on the River Ruel can be purchased and the coastal village of Tighnabruaich offers superb boat trips & water sports.
This stunning part of the west coast of Scotland has many beautiful sandy beaches and rocky shores to explore and day trips can be spent enjoying the Trossachs, Inveraray, Oban, the Kyles of Bute and Loch Lomond. Catch the ferry from Portavadie (12 miles) and enjoy a day trip to Tarbert and the beautiful Mull of Kintyre. Cowal is home to several beautiful gardens including Ardkinglas Woodland Garden which has one of the finest collections of rhododendrons and conifers within the British Isles and the 150 acre Benmore Botanic Gardens at foot of Loch Eck. Ardachearnbeg is also ideally placed for walking the beautiful Cowal Way.
