Located next to Ballater’s golf course this cottage is an obvious choice for golfers who may also wish to try the fantastic courses at Aboyne, Banchory, Braemar, Tarland and Torphins. Ballater also offers a wide range of independent shops and top quality restaurants, and hosts many events throughout the year from book fairs to walking festivals and of course a Highland Games, a traditional spectacle not to be missed. Surrounded by wonderful countryside Ballater is ideal holiday destination for everyone and Arisaig is the ideal holiday cottage to come back after a hard day’s sight seeing.

Golfing – Ballater golf course is next to the cottage Hillwalking – Many munros are within easy reach including Lochnagar, Mount Keen, The Cairnwell and Carn Aosd Castles – Crathes Castle, Craigievar, Drum Castle to name but a few of the NTS castles in Aberdeenshire, are all a short drive. Balmoral Castle and grounds are also open to the public when the queen is not in residence Fishing –the River Dee provides some of the best salmon fishing in Scotland. There is also many smaller rivers and fisheries where fishing can be arranged Touring- Deeside is ideally placed for scenic day trips whether it is over to the coastal villages of Stonehaven and Catterline, or over the notorious Lecht road to Speyside , or down the river valley to the Granite City of Aberdeen. Highland Games – There are Highland Games every weekend in Scotland from May through to September, with the Ballater, Aboyne and Lonach Highland Games all being held in August and the world famous Braemar Gathering attended by the Royal Family, in September. Skiing -The snowfields at Glenshee stretch over three valleys giving access to 40 km of marked pistes, as well as off piste skiing.
