Glen Etive House enjoys a magical setting at the head of Loch Etive and is surrounded by the magnificent and legendary mountains of Glencoe and Glen Etive.  Quietly positioned down a glorious, secluded glen this traditional sporting lodge is a wonderful base for those who enjoy the great outdoors.

Inside, the house is full of traditional charm with a lovely welcoming atmosphere allowing you to truly relax.  The rooms are spacious and comfortable and kept warm by the oil central heating, double glazing and a large open fire in the sitting room.  This family home is fully equipped with everything needed for a memorable self-catering holiday in the highlands.  Comfortably sleeping up to 12 guests, there are five well presented bedrooms upstairs plus an additional twin bedroom and bathroom downstairs.

The house is encircled by a large informal lawn, which provides a wonderful play area for children and beautiful views across the river and down Loch Etive to the sea.  In the evening and early morning deer can often be seen grazing on the lawn close to the house.  This is paradise for hill walkers, artists, photographers and wildlife enthusiasts with endless opportunity to spot red deer, otters, seals, ptarmigan and eagles.

Happy days with family and friends can be spent enjoying this wonderful location – pack a picnic and head off for day long adventures into the rugged hills, along the shoreline of the loch or up the river which bubbles over and around the huge boulders, rages spectacularly through deep pools and gorges.  Return home to a roaring open fire and gather for sociable evening dinners around the large dining room table.

Activities

Glen Etive Estate offers something for everyone, from the most challenging mountaineering to a peaceful amble down to its beautiful river, through tranquil woodland or boating on the open water of Loch Etive, one of Scotland’s most beautiful sea lochs. By arrangement you can catch brown trout in hill lochs or have outings on Loch Etive with boat and motor. The estate has an Argocat, Land Rover and a pony available for stalking.  During the winter months, ski-ing is available at the neighboring Glencoe Mountain Resort or nearby at Fort William’s renowned Nevis Range Centre.
