Holiday Cottage Details

Rarely do you have the opportunity to enjoy such a stunning location in so much comfort and style - Lochside House is superbly positioned on the shoreline of beautiful Loch Leven and surrounded by some of the most magnificent scenery that Scotland has to offer.

Inside this spacious home, the interiors are creative, stylish and uncluttered allowing you to truly relax and get away from it all.  The welcoming fully-equipped kitchen with its large table and smart slate floor is perfect for holiday dining and the main sitting room has a calm restful atmosphere with large glass sliding doors that open out onto the terrace and shoreline allowing you to enjoy summer evenings and beautiful sunsets.  The three delightful bedrooms are fresh and luxurious with comfy beds and crisp linen and the bathrooms contemporary and stylish.  But the real surprise comes when you discover the upstairs sitting room – this wonderful room with its double height ceiling, wood-panelling and endless glass creates a mountain chalet feel.   From here you can enjoy the continually changing light and colours across the magical landscape and marvel at the amazing variety of birds and wildlife that live around the shoreline.

Return home to this charming house after an exhilarating day spent exploring this magical part of Scotland and enjoy a relaxing soak in the fabulous double-ended bath before sinking into the deep sofa and warming your feet by the woodburning stove.  Heaven.

Lochside House is positioned on what was once part of the historic and famous Ballachulish slate quarry where slabs of slate would be taken by tram to the shoreline and split to the required thickness.  Still standing around the immediate shoreline is a fascinating collection of slate workers’ boat houses and sheds dating back to the 1860s.
