Wonderful house, wonderful surroundings. Truely relaxing retreat with tranquil surroundings. My puppy loved it too!

We had a very nice visit. You can hear the creek from every room. The wood stove heats the whole house and it's a very short drive into town.

My story may appear too long and even now I feel robbed I have not given the coach house (cottage) and its surroundings full justice. From the time you drive over a century old stone bridge and start climbing the tree lined winding road, springtime bluebells either side of the road creating a woodland beauty. Then the cottage appears like a scene from a Disney movie. The cottage nestles on the side of a hill amid wooded surroundings. Below the cottage is a babbling river, across the river valley appearing between wooded areas, are patches of meadow with cattle grazing. The slate roofed cottage is no indication of the five star interior, Entering through a wooden door which is hinged opening into half frame door. Inside the dream continues oozing with cosiness, slate covered floors with under floor heating, climbing a spiral staircase above the lounge a mezzanine floor ideal for a children’s retreat. The master bedroom, ensuite bathroom large enough too shower with a friend, with an abundance of hot steaming water, heated towel rails and clothing racks. The kitchen has a modern glass plate top stove, with every cooking and dining need. Just bring the food, and if you forget on your first day the fridge is stocked to tide you over... Overnight rain had swollen the river from a babbling stream into a torrent creating another fairy-tale, walking distance from the cottage ‘Dhivach’ waterfalls spectacular from the viewing place water cascading down a hundred feet drop. Evenings filled with tranquillity sitting in front of wood burning fire hypnotised watching flickering flames while sipping single malt whisky, I was in heaven. For the lady in your life, if she likes to keep-up with her soaps there is a multi-satellite station TV. Visiting from Australia this experience the ambience in a fairy tale cottage surrounded by woods a place! A place that is holy and enchanted. Bring some pet nuts the red squirrels gobble them down. Drumnadrochit town folk tell me the cottage next door J. M. Barrie stayed in the cottage and that is where he got his inspiration for ‘Peter Pan’. If your fancy is simply doing nothing, maybe write a story; go to this idyllic place, or a base for visiting the surrounding area, Urquhart castle just minutes away. My granddaughter through the eyes of a child, grandpa this place is like ‘Fern Gully’... I have only one thing that should change! A neighbouring cottage has a marauding cat!
