‘The Highland Retreat’, or 1 The Moat House, is a modern and stylish apartment that provides comfortable and luxurious accommodation. The property is well equipped and decorated with a fine array of artwork, influenced no doubt by the fact that the apartment’s owner owns one of the leading galleries in Scotland for modern Scottish artists. Unusually, the apartment has two entrances with a private ground floor entrance in addition to the usual internal entry point.

The apartment is set over two floors with the lower (ground) floor being developed from the armoury of the original old Fort after which the town is named. From the external ground floor entrance, you enter the main sleeping area where you can enjoy sleeping in the spacious and elegantly furnished master bedroom with its vaulted ceiling, en-suite bedroom with roll top bath, shower, and lovely slate floors. A further twin room and family bathroom are decorated in fresh neutral colours and extremely well furnished. Stairs lead up to the open plan living-dining space with double sofa bed. The separate kitchen is compact but excellently fitted and equipped. You can also enter the apartment through the Moat House entry at this 1st floor level.

Accommodation

Activities

There is a wealth of activities for you to enjoy in the area with excellent, hill walking, cycling, fishing, field sports, boating and gold all available locally. There are many castles, gardens, woollen mills and distilleries within easy reach. Or just enjoy a romantic stroll along the canal.

Swimming Pool , Sauna and Jacuzzi all complete - Fantastic addition to the Highland Club - kids allowed into all three and the temperature in pool is nice and warm
