The Old School has been completely and passionately transformed into a delightful family home with a magnificent living area giving it a feel reminiscent of a small castle rather than an old 'hall'. The wooden floor, high stone wall, Caithness stone hearth and fireplace give this house character and atmosphere which is quite different from other holiday homes. Tastefully decorated and furnished in all rooms with individual pieces of antique furniture, art, rugs and luxurious fabrics, this is the perfect hideaway to spend your holiday whatever time of year. At one end of the hall is a library wall within which is also a 42” plasma screen TV, at the opposite end is a tall garden window with French doors opening to private secluded gardens with mature trees, open lawns, patios and BBQ area.

On the ground floor is a twin bedroom and a double bedroom with a 4’3” sleigh bed, both very light and airy with crisp white bed linen and colourful curtains and cushions. There is also a shower room, a family bathroom and a fully fitted kitchen / dining room with antique table and chairs and open fire. Upstairs is a further twin bedroom and a king size bedroom with en-suite facilities and bath.

Sitting in 1 acre of private grounds beside the River Fechlin, the Old School offers very comfortable accommodation in one of the most popular areas of the Scottish Highlands. Only a short drive from Loch Ness this house is a perfect base for those with all tastes from walking to bird watching, fishing to stalking, all of which can be arranged locally. For the less energetic there are numerous routes to take by car round the beautiful countryside or places to stop off to collect a highland souvenir.

Activities

This area of the Scottish Highlands is one of outstanding natural beauty with something for everyone. Loch Ness is the main attraction offering boat trips, fishing, 'Nessie' spotting or just a place to picnic. About 6 miles south is Fort Augustus where the Caledonian Canal joins Loch Ness and  has many tourist shops and facilities, as does Invermoriston and Drumnadrochit on the opposite shore on the A82. The Monadhliath Mountains offer excellent walking, and fishing in many of the hill lochs and lochans. Inverness is less than an hour away and has everything going on for good and bad weather.
