As you drive up through the Glenmazeran Estate to this magical hideaway in the hills, you are as likely as not to come across a herd of red deer grazing in the grasslands no more than 100 yards from the house. This is real highland scenery, with the River Findhorn running close by and a small lochan that can be seen from the sunroom of the house. For a pure Scottish experience, this is the right cottage for you! The Scottish Open Golf Championship is coming to Castle Stuart this July making Culrain a perfect accommodation choice.

Inside, the cosy sitting room has a log burning stove and leads on to a sunroom from where you can gaze out to the wonderful views. The kitchen is well equipped and has a good farmhouse table for enjoying your meals. The comfortable bedrooms all come with built in wardrobes and en suite bathrooms and the ones on the top floor have the charming combed ceilings so characteristic of Highland cottages.

The gamekeeper from the estate can arrange fishing on the River Findhorn and point out to you a wealth of walks to be taken where birds of prey abound and red deer are certain to be spied. You are also in close proximity to the Cairngorm National Park where there are many attractions for all ages. If you plan a winter break, what better a base than this cosy cottage to come back to after a bracing days skiing.  For the less sporting, a visit to the whisky distillery at nearby Tomatin will provide a welcome distraction!
