Edinburgh Castle is breathtaking and you can also stroll down the Royal Mile to the Palace of Holyrood house, enjoying the ancient architecture and street performers as you go. There are attractions wherever you go, another gem being the Royal Yacht Britannia at Leith.

Edinburgh also claims the title, "Europe's Festival Capital" and offers everything from the world famous International Festival and Festival Fringe to the Military Tattoo, Edinburgh International Film Festival, Edinburgh International Science Festival and the Edinburgh Hogmanay.

East Lothian lies to the east of Edinburgh, at the mouth of the Firth of Forth. A beautiful county of rolling farmland backed by hills to the south and fringed by a marvellous coastline boasting lovely seaside resort and fishing towns, beaches and countless links golf courses. South and west of Edinburgh lies Mid and West Lothian. Slightly hillier than their eastern neighbour, they too have numerous towns and villages and numerous attractions.

You can golf, stroll on the beach, visit offshore islands and attractions like the Scottish Seabird Centre, hill walk, cycle, or just relax.
