This charming, fully refurbished single-storey cottage is quietly positioned on the beautiful Wards Estate close to the shores of scenic Loch Lomond. Set within its own garden and enjoying views over fields and pretty woodland, Wards Cottage is ideal for couples and friends or a family wishing to enjoy a relaxed self-catering holiday in Scotland.

Furnished to a high standard, Wards Cottage is spacious and welcoming.  The inviting log fire in the comfortable sitting room adds to its charm and creates a perfect backdrop for memorable evenings.  Doors open into a stylish conservatory allowing you to enjoy the beautiful surroundings through all seasons.  As well as a breakfast table in the well-equipped kitchen, there is a dining table with high back comfy leather chairs in the large reception hall - perfect for quiet, relaxed dinners.  The attractively furnished double bedroom enjoys an en-suite bathroom and the spacious twin bedroom benefits from two full size pull-out truckle beds allowing the cottage to sleep up to 6 guests.

Wards Estate is set within The Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park, home to some of the best Scottish scenery, heritage and culture.  Surrounding the estate are some of the oldest woods in the region as well as a RSPB nature reserve important for its diverse wetland habitats and rich summer grazing with unique flora, fauna and birdlife. Ospreys and Whooper Swans can be spotted and Greylag and Greenland white-fronted geese regularly fly in to the estate during the winter months. Wards Cottage is within a mile of the friendly conservation village of Gartocharn making it a perfect base from which to explore the many sites and activities this area has to offer.

Loch Lomond is well known for its water sports including wind surfing, sailing, excellent water skiing and wake boarding.   The surrounding countryside provides a wonderful setting for glorious walks to suit all levels; up hills, in forestry or a network of local walks.
There is also superb hill walking and climbing - the neighbouring Arrochar Alps include four Munros and six Corbetts, the best known of which is The Cobbler.

There are a number of outstanding golf courses locally including Loch Lomond Golf Course which has hosted the Scottish Open and other international events. Other nearby golf courses includes Buchanan Castle, Hilton Park and Milngavie. 

The banks for the River Endrick are also particularly beautiful. Much of the loch frontage, which is all natural, has sandy beaches and provides for wonderful walking, picnicking and sightings of rare birds, otters and a multitude of other wildlife.  

The nearest town is Balloch where there are a multitude of activities including a sealife centre and shopping at Lomond Shores.  Day trips can be enjoyed to the cultural centres of Glasgow, Stirling and Edinburgh.  During the summer months there are a variety of festivals close by including many Highland Games and traditional Scottish music festivals.
