Nestled at the head of Glenshee, where the green fields fade out to the purple heather clad mountains, this charming lodge, with its uninterrupted views, is an absolute delight.  Every thought has been given to comfort, and the lodge is cosy and warm with a stylish interior.  An open plan living room has a well equipped kitchen, dining area and seating area with leather sofas and French door leading out to the veranda.  Two comfortable double bedrooms in addition to a room with bunk beds give Straloch flexible accommodation. Surrounded by the glorious countryside guests can spot red deer, mountain hare, grouse and perhaps a golden eagle, and all from the veranda!

On the edge of The Cairngorm National Park, this area is heaven for those who love the outdoors with walking, skiing, climbing and fishing all on the doorstep. Bikes can be hired locally, or perhaps guests may prefer to view the scenery from horseback. Further afield, there are historic properties and distilleries to visit, or retail opportunities with the fair city of Perth only 45mins away and the bustling tourist towns of Pitlochry and Dunkeld and Braemar all within an hours drive. What ever your interests or age this holiday lodge is the perfect base.

Hillwalking - 21 munros close by· Fishing – With the Rivers Shee, Dee, Ericht and Tay all within easy reach fishermen can cast a line for brown trout and salmon.  In addition there are stocked rainbow and brown trout lochs locally.· Clay pigeon shooting· Shooting and stalking can be arranged locally· Skiing – six miles from the Glen Shee Ski area which has 40km of piste covering three valleys and four mountains· Tennis · Golf - Braemar, Ballater, Aboyne, Pitlochry, Kirriemuir, Blairgowrie (Rosemount and Lansdowne) and Alyth are allwithin 45 minutes drive.
