Castle Rental Details
Wester Brewlands in rural Perthshire is a truly outstanding 5 star large holiday house which is sure to play host to a most wonderful holiday. Set within a large estate in the Cairngorm National Park, Wester Brewlands has roots dating back to the 13th century; the property is in an idyllic location for exploring the surrounding area. This exceptional holiday house was the childhood holiday home of President George W. Bush.
Beautifully decorated and furnished throughout, this is holiday accommodation of the highest quality – extremely comfortable and elegant and yet friendly and welcoming, yet only 90 minutes from Edinburgh. Providing the highest levels of comfort with a resident housekeeper you are sure to enjoy a special stay in such a luxurious property. Enjoy tennis coaching from a professional, relax in the hot tub followed by a delicious evening meal prepared for you by our cook.
The area is home to a variety of wildlife including deer, rare red squirrels and ospreys. The formal ancient garden complete with revolving summerhouse has views of woodlands, terraced lawns and gardens over to the River Isla – fishing on which is included within the rental price. You will be well placed for rural sport as it is possible to arrange shooting and stalking and there are 2 good brown trout hill lochs complete with boats for fly fishing and a stretch of the River Isla for salmon
There are excellent golf facilities within comfortable driving distance from the house including championship courses at Gleneagles and at the home of golf, St Andrews. Skiing may be possible at Glenshee during the winter months but will of course be dependent on weather conditions.
All in all, Wester Brewlands provides first rate luxurious accommodation in a rural yet accessible location, being within easy reach of the major centres of Glasgow and Edinburgh.
In the spring wander through the daffodils in the garden to the sounds of snow melt in the river and continuous bird-song. Lambing begins in March and the migrating birds return. The house is also convenient for Glenshee and skiing in the winter. Hire bikes from the estate and cycle round the glen or take a fishing rod to one of the lochs. Glenisla is almost entirely organic: there is such a profusion of wild flowers that part of the glen is a wildflower reserve. Walk 500 yards from your door to the Fairy Glen, then along the woodland paths past the ruins of a Pictish village to the wild heathery mountain tops beyond, from which there are 360 degree views for 40 miles.
