If you leave the door open what you will hear is the sound of the sea because Mey Cliff Cottage sits on the edge of this most northerly coast of Scotland. Located between the Castle of Mey and Dunnet Head this delightful brand new cottage has the most spectacular and beautiful panoramic views of the Pentland Firth and on clear days you can see the Orkney Islands in the distance. Set in a crofting community, this is an ideal holiday house to kick off your shoes, take in the sea air and relax. The house has been built with space and comfort in mind, with picture windows in the sitting room providing the perfect place to sit and watch the sea birds, boats and the day go by. A generous sized kitchen where the windows frame the outstanding view of the shore beyond makes cooking a pleasure. The master bedroom faces east to view the Castle of Mey, the former home of the late Queen Mother. The second double room and twin room looking west to Dunnet Head.

Surrounded by cliff tops and sandy beaches, for those who want to enjoy the outdoors the house is in an area where walking, bird watching and fishing are in abundance. Take a ferry from Gills Bay (car ferry) or John O Groats (pedestrian only ferry) to visit the historic Orkney Islands. Wildlife Cruises can be taken from John O Groats.
