Holiday Cottage Details

Quarry Edge is a traditional Caithness Stone house with commanding views of the surrounding hills, and a large open garden making an ideal base for a family holiday.  Though dating back to 1939 it has been totally refurbished and tastefully decorated with solid wooden floors and doors throughout, ensuite double bedroom and fully equipped modern kitchen. Accessed by a drop down ladder is a newly converted spacious attic bedroom with side and roof windows giving fantastic views for miles. This however may only be suitable for the younger members of the party!

The large master bedroom has ensuite facilities with walk-in shower, and ample wardrobe storage. There is also a large screen TV for the lazy nights when you can retire to bed and watch what you want to. The lounge has comfortable settees and patio doors looking out to the garden and beyond.

Outside is perfect for children to play with a safe large enclosed garden with trampoline. There is also a large decked area and patio ideal for alfresco dining and barbecues or watching the sun go down on the long summer evenings.

Activities

Caithness has a lovely and varied coastline with rocky headlands and wide sandy beaches. It has a wealth of archaeological and heritage sites worth visiting along with other activities such as bird watching, fishing, walking and climbing. The former home of the Queen Mother, Castle of Mey is only about 12 miles away and shooting, fishing and deer stalking can all be arranged locally with the owner.
