Pack the buckets and spades and from Tigh na Mara you can just step out across the lane and you are on the delightful sandy beach of Rosemarkie. The views across the Moray Firth are glorious and dolphins and otters are visitors if you are lucky! Chanonry Point, the most famous place for dolphin-spotting, is a mere 20 minutes stroll away along the beach of the lovely Rosemarkie bay. In the other direction you can walk for miles along the beach to Cromarty and look for the fossils made famous by geologist Hugh Miller at Eathie. If you don’t feel like cooking there are a good selection of charming restaurants nearby, the nearest is just 2 minutes away! Alternatively, just choose from a selection of meals made to suit your very own preferences by your hostess, which can be ready and waiting in the fridge or freezer. For golf enthusiasts the Fortrose and Rosemarkie links course is also just 5 minutes along the strand – you’ll have to guard against losing your concentration if you are distracted by the chance of spotting a dolphin instead of keeping your eye on the tee! From inside, this traditional Victorian house benefits from wonderful views across the firth, spacious bright rooms and a high proportion of bathrooms making it perfect for larger parties.
