Holiday Cottage Details

Only rarely do we come across a seaside cottage that encompasses everything you could want from a seaside holiday in one of the most beautiful places in Britain. Pier Cottage is one of those occasions! As the name suggests, this cottage is at the old pier in the tiny hamlet of Camusterrach on the stunning Applecross peninsula where the pace of life is calm and slow and you have time to stop and wonder at this lovely place.

The cottage itself has undergone a sympathetic and stylish renovation including solar panels so many original features such as fireplaces, tongue and groove cladding remain but new windows and French doors bring in light and views. The snug sitting room has white walls, wood floors and great wood burning stove – perfect for a quiet evening in. An addition to this wonderful holiday cottage is the open plan kitchen/dining room where the French doors lead out to the deck and just a few more steps lead you to the seashore. There is an otter that regularly swims past here and sea eagles are often seen in the area. The views to Raasay and Skye are unbeatable and the sound of the sea is soothing or energising depending on the weather. There is a deck area and lawn for you to enjoy the sea views and the rocky shoreline is perfect for beachcombing.

Two traditional bedrooms on the first floor have combed ceilings and the new addition on this level is a tempting claw foot bath for two, with a porthole window looking out to sea!

There are numerous walks in the area as well as an award winning Inn nearby as well as the excellent Walled Garden bistro. Applecross is a haven for wildlife and the sea is clean and clear if chilly! There is a mooring for a dinghy and a nearby slipway and potential for sea kayaking. This is a wonderful house in a glorious spot, be sure not to miss this little bit of heaven.

Linen and house towels provided. Beach towels are NOT provided. Heating and electricity, logs for wood burning stove included.

DVD player with TV (however there is no TV reception), fridge/freezer, microwave, electric induction hob, electric oven, dishwasher and breadmaker. Washer/dryer. Garden furniture. BBQ (charcoal) and fire pit by seashore. Parking for 2 cars.

1 dog only and restricted to ground floor.
