This quirky wing of  the House of Brough, an 18th Century former Lairds House, has a much more contemporary feel than that of the main house yet is still steeped in history.  A recent restoration project has turned this part of the building into spacious and stunning accommodation. Tastefully finished with a modern twist the spiral staircase takes you up to a spectacular viewing gallery which opens onto the master suite.  This stylish pad still has a cosy feel and you can close the shutters and can get toasty in front of the wood burning stove in the lounge.  For those looking for a peaceful island retreat, the Peedie House is perfect for a relaxing break and a great base to explore Westray.

Westray is a microcosm for Orkney as a whole as there is plenty to do whether you're here for a short break or a few weeks. There is something for everyone from sailing boat or taking in a few holes of golf to visiting historic Castles and sites, following the local craft trail, taking a dip in the local pool or simply just walking the stunning coastline on the look out for a puffin or two, Westray is bound to surprise you.
