Holiday Cottage Details
If the need to get away from it all is calling, ‘Robbies Hoose’ the former summer holiday cottage of the late renowned Orkney Poet and Naturalist Robbie Rendall, is the place to go. Located on the stunning north coast of the Mainland of Orkney this peedie chalet is a haven for those who crave a relaxing and peaceful holiday.
Tucked away in the quaint village of Birsay, Robbies Hoose is right by the sea with the shore literally on the other side of the garden gate; meaning of course the views are breathtaking with Marwick Head to the left and the Brough of Birsay on the right. You may have the feeling of being on the edge of the world when to the North there is only sea but a short walk to the shop means there will always be fresh local milk for your cup of tea.
With beautiful walks in the area and the many archaeological and Neolithic sites near by, there will always be something to do if you ever tire of just looking at the view. The picturesque ruins of Earls Palace are just a moment’s walk around the corner. Whilst at low tide a short walk across to the Brough of Birsay will immerse you in history.
