It is always a little daunting to consider spending Christmas away from home and even more so when considering inviting the extended family! However, our hopes for a successful were more than exceeded at Craiglush on many counts. The location itself is stunning. Our two grand-daughters [aged 9 and 12] enjoyed the freedom to explore the exciting grounds; they loved watching and feeding the many birds in the garden and particularly enjoyed the Whooper swans, cormorant, red squireels, montjack deer etc etc. Our daughter, her partner, our son and our daughter in law together with us, loved the many and varied walks through forests and to lochs. The house is very well equipped for such a family group and the two bathrooms and en-suite shower meant that there was never any pressure on bathroom fcailities. The beds were comfortable, the house very warm [ VERY importnat in the winter]; the Jotul wood burning stove a joy to use and a great addition to the oil CH. The dining table was a very good size for festive dining for 8 and the fridge and freezer enabled the advance prep food I had brought to be stored and cooked with ease. We dined like kings on Christmas day enjoying roast venison etc etc cooked to perfection in the main overn whilst platesand serving dishes were heated in the smaller oven. The kitchen space worked well and there were ample dishes [although I did bring a couple of my giant serving platters and my own knives!] Another great feature which helped decide me on the choice of Craiglush was the second sitting room - agreat space fro the girls to watch Christmas TV or the adults to curl up with a book [difficult to concentrate though as the view over the loch is stunning!] Hoping to return in the Spring to enjoy breakfast on the balcony and watch the wildlife and sky scape over the loch. Highly recommended . [Also recommed a replacement Dyson wodul be a good addition...]

The cottage was lovely with beautiful surroundings. Fully furnished cottage and fully equiped kitchen, it made the stay very comfortable - home away from home.

House well presented and very clean. Layout works well for 2 separate families. The south facing aspect makes the balconies nice heat traps with great views. Fantastic views across loch from both main bedrooms and living rooms. Kitchen well equipped with everything you would need. Fantastic location with walks from the house into the woods. Dog friendly, as the whole garden (actually a small wood) is completely fenced off.

I have been to Craiglush with friends several times, it is located in a spectacular position and has wondereful views from the house. The house now has more storage room in the kitchen which is wonderful. On the website is states recently refurbish, but that now is 5 years ago and some of the furniture could do with updating such as the dining room furniture.
