I immensly enjoyed our stay at Eaglais cottage. It was just what we wanted, a stylish yet traditional cottage in a great location with view over a loch. Set about 5 miles away from Torridon village you reach the cottage down a little road that follows the side of the loch with great views across to the opposite mountains. The cottage is set up on top of an outcrop of rock, so enjoys slightly elevated views over the loch and sets it away from any other houses around so it is nice and private (which is a good job as the bathroom window on the west side of the house didnt have a blind) and not overlooked at all, there are maybe 4 other houses in view though so its fairly secluded - I didnt see a soul the whole time we were there! Loch Torridon is beautiful, a really rugged proper Scottish Loch, Stormy and atmospheric. The cottage is lovely its spacious and well appointed, the kitchen is a great size and has all mod cons including two fridge/freezers a dishwasher and two belfast sinks. There is also a utility room. There is a separate lounge upstairs with views across the loch that has a dvd and tv and a selection of films and books too. 3 good sized bedrooms with comfortable beds, 3 bathrooms - great water pressure here, the bath filled up in about 3 minutes!! I cannot rate this place highly enough, I had a great time even though the weather wasnt great, the north west coast of Scotland is just amazing, I love it up there and will definately be staying at Eaglais again. The only slight issue may be for older people as the access is up some reasonably steep steps, which wasnt a problem at all for us, in fact it was kind of an interesting feature, but it might have been a problem for somebody with mobility issues.

Comfortable, spacious and clean, with books and dvd's, a big well-equipped kitchen and excellent showers and baths, the house itself offers enough to enjoy oneself on a typical Scottish rainy day. It's nice the former little church is placed on a higher level compared with other houses: good views and no one peeking through the window. Great walking and hiking opportunities in the surrounding area (and great to find the whole area back on the wall in the hallway!). Isolated, but still possible to buy a paper if you're willing to drive just 30 minutes. Only two things that were a bit dissapointing: midgets seem to like this spot extremely well, and - compared with other cottages - we missed having a fire place. However, those are minor details and you cannot have it all.
