No mobile reception no internet jsut a log burner and walking - just what was required.

We absolutely loved the cosy warmth of this little cottage set in the beautiful surroundings of the Applecross Estate. The cottage had everything we needed and the well-equipped kitchen allowed us to enjoy many delicious meals by the heat of the fire. The location was ideal with enough civilisation at hand like the Applecross Inn, but set among the wilds and isolation of the Applecross Peninsular to get away from it all. We didn't come across a soul on our walks but did enjoy a late-night chat with some deer on the way back from the pub.

My husband and I had the best of time in Applecross. No phone and no telly, it is sometime what you need to really appreciate everything around you. We was very luckey with the weather a bit of warm sunshine( for that time of year Oct) a bit of wind and a bit of rain. The way in to Applecross through" the pass of the cattle" was spectatular, just a bit of mist at the very top, where we got out. You could hear the staggs roaring in the mist. Magic. The food in both the Inn and the Potting Shed was fantastic, with many local products. And the locals very welcoming and kind, they go out of there way to help you. We saw plenty of wildlife too, on the walks of which there are many. The walks can be as easy or as hard as you like, and there is water sports too, though we did stay on land. We had a fantastic time, we are still on a high. There are so much to see, we most certinly be back. A little jewall.

Applecross Jam Factory Cottage This was our first time north of Fort William and what an experience, we unfortunately could only stay from the Sunday to Wednesday but wished we had a lot longer and will return. Upon arriving at the Cottage we found everything we needed for our stay as the cottage was fitted to a high standard as detailed in the brochure. The Applecross Estate and surrounding area was just beautiful and for such a small community we were surprised at the amount of choice for eating out, which was to such a quality we could not fault. The paths and walking areas around the estate were to a high standard, however we did comment that we only found them, detailed later on in the week and would off liked further information on arrival, but in saying that we should have investigated the Web site better which we now know shows all the walks in detail. The Estate and the staff we communicated with were a credit to the Trust and look forward to returning in 2013.

Quiet and secluded location, very clean and tidy. Very good value for the money

Lovely cottage like others on the estate that we have stayed in. Warm and omfortable with a well equipped kitchen. The log burner was much appreciated as the weather was awful all week! One minor irritation - although there was ample drawer space there was nowhere to hang clothes other than a coat stand.

Cosy cottage, everything you need for a short stay. Armchairs could do with replacing as they are not very comfortable. Option of lighter bedding for hot weather would be welcome. Great surroundings with plenty of privacy. Fairly priced for what's on offer. Will return.

The Jam Factory is a lovely little place to stay, perfect for two people and a dog. It is within easy walking distance of Applecross Inn but in a lovely secluded part of the Applcross Estate. The cottage itself is small, but not cramped and has everything you need. A well presented, clean and well thoughout cottage. We will definitely be returning!

We've just returned from our fourth visit to the Jam Factory at Applecross and the cottage and location seem to be more perfect every time. The Jam Factory is located in a beautiful woodland setting in a lovely part of the Scottish Highlands. It is totally surrounded by deer fencing which makes it ideal for visitors who take their dog and ours is currently exhausted! The Applecross area is great for deer, seal, otter, and bird spotting and the drive there over the single track Bealach na Ba mountain pass is stunning if a bit scary. All in all a great place to visit.

We really enjoyed our stay in the Jam Factory and would love to come again. There were only a couple of problems which were minor - the wood for the log fire was damp, difficult to light and smoked a lot; we could not get the hot water in the bathroom to work because the pulley switch was broken. It would be nice to have a radio, so we will be sure to bring ours next time.

Lovely cottage, toasty warm with the wood burning stove, quiet, just beautiful. Would recommend it as a getaway place in the winter.
