Cosy cottage, bathroom a bit basic (no shower) A lovely place to get away fromit all, 18 miles to the nearest shop and the local hotel is up for sale, so a long way to eat out.

Comfortable cosy cottage. Very clean and tidy. HAs absolutely everything needed for a week in Sutherland great if you are fishing also perfect as a base for walking, observing wild life or just to get away turn off and relax. Having the log fire going at night makes it even more enjoyable, really good if you get in cold and wet get the fire going toasty warm and dry in no time. Kitchen is well equipped. everything we needed was available in the cottage. The only thing we missed were sheets (we could borrow some from people in Kinbrace, what was nice of them) Warm, cosy and enough space for two / three people. We enjoyed it and we'll certainly come again !

Very good this year. Water situation resolved and reezer a great addition for a fishing party ! Only minor omission is a shower - rubber fit-on doesn't work at all well.

The cottage is small and very cosy due mainly to the wood burning stove in the sitting room, which is essential when we have been out for walks during the winter. The kitchen is reasonably well-equipped and the bedrooms are snug. The main bedroom is charmingly decorated. The main drawback is lack of a shower, which could be a problem with some people, but the cost of Rowan Cottage is one of its attractions, and further modernisation could increase the rent. We have been visiting Rowan Cottage over several years and it is always charming and welcoming - and we hope to keep visiting as we find the area very interesting and varied.
