Fantastic location with wonderful views. Clean. All furnishings, including upstairs, very dated & tired, including bedlinen (although clean). Very dissapointed to find no direct access to the back garden from the house - we only discovered the way down by a dark, unpleasant path & steps several days later. Brochure is misleading by not mentioning this. No instructions for ancient washer/dryer rendered it impossible to use. We assumed that the washing line at the back was not for our use as we saw a neighbour using it but we only found out by talking to her that it was ,in fact, shared so we spent virtually all week struggling to hand wash then dry clothes indoors. House could be wonderful but money needes to be spent on updating it. Fortrose is a charming village with all amenities - a lovely place to stay.

very comfortable spacious property. Kitchen small but works well. Sitting room has plenty of seats even if rather dated. No garden but stunning views over the Murray Firth from the main rooms. Bedrooms well sized and 2 bathrooms with plenty of hot water. House is clean and cared for and we would go again. Car parking outside front door. We liked Fortrose and cromarty and Ullapool is not too far away.

Excellent location on the Black Isle. Not the most modern accomodation, but appropriately priced. Lovely view from lounge window across Moray Firth.

For us it is ideal location. We particularly like the view from the sitting room. Because it is reasonably priced, we can visit our daughter more often. Also nice and close to Chanonry point, where dolphins are often seen.

We had a lovely week's holiday at West End Cottage. The views across the Moray Firth were outstanding and couldn't be bettered. We stayed there primarily to see the dolphins and, as it was July, we saw them literally every day at Chanonry Point (about a 5 minute drive away). It is well situated to drive all around the Black Isle and is in easy reach of Inverness and even the Cairngorms. The cottage itself is fine, with very well-stocked kitchen utensils, although the lounge area could be slighly "spruced up" in terms of furnishings, although we personally had no complaints. The balcony leading from the lounge is an additional welcome feature. I would definitely recommend it and would certainly not hesitate to stay there again. It's wonderful for wildlife lovers.
