Hidden away, with the river Doon running down the side of the garden, Nether Auchendrane is a spectacular destination for a great holiday as there is more to this magnificent property than meets the eye on first glance. At the rear there is a simply wonderful decking area that is built out across the river and the summer house has the fun of a large hot tub.
Nether Auchendrane is a spectacular house near Alloway that has plenty of space to provide a glorious spacious venue for a big sociable house party. The property dates back to 1698 and enjoys a prime position on the banks of the River Doon. You can hear the sound of the river tumbling over the weirs as you sit in the house and in the summer months the water will be heard all around. Even better is the decking area that hangs out across the river and the summer house at the edge with its large hot tub. What a perfect place to enjoy an evening, having a BBQ beside the floodlit river, sampling the hot tub or just absorbing the sound of the river and watching for autumn salmon jumping the weirs. There are large lawns to the front and a further 20 acres or so of woodland for you to explore.
Inside, the house has plenty of public space with a wonderful large garden room on the ground floor leading to a sun trap of a patio. There are 11 bedrooms in this splendid house and an excellent proportion of bathrooms at 7 plus additional cloakrooms. The house is over four floors as you would expect and it has a welcoming and comfortable feel to it. There are many public rooms including a fantastic Games room complete with pool table, flatscreen TV and a built in bar – perfect for a celebration. There is also a drawing room and dining room on the first floor – the latter a beautiful space with wonderful wooden floors and lovely views across the river.
The bedrooms are spread across all floors and there are 3 double bedrooms on the ground floor which provide flexibility for those with less mobility. Many of the bedrooms have wonderful views over the river and you can fall asleep to the sound of the river tumbling down the valley.
