The Castle of Invercauld is in a magnificent setting on Royal Deeside and offers guests with the opportunity to sample life as Laird of a prestigious Scottish Castle. The large castle is the perfect place to have a wedding or hold a corporate function or simply enjoy a special family holiday.
This historic Scottish castle has been the seat of the Clan Farquharson Chiefs since the early 16th century. The castle was then refurbished and partially rebuilt in 1874 in the Scottish Baronial style that it reflects to this day. The main entrance was moved to face Balmoral in honour of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert, the new Royal owners. The area has always been a favourite of the Royal family and still is to this day, and the famous annual Braemar Highland Gathering enjoys Royal patronage. Invercauld Estate covers approximately 200 square miles with the boundary marked by the River Dee, one of the most famous salmon rivers in Scotland, where fishing can be organised.
The property is set in quiet, pretty parkland and wooded area and boasts grand Victorian style antique furniture and furnishings. Accommodation is luxurious and comfortable with a wonderful reception hall ideally suited for pre dinner drinks and a beautifully pine panelled dining room which compliments the impressive drawing room. Many of the bedrooms enjoy old fashioned four poster beds and the spacious bathrooms are dominated by large deep traditional baths, the height of luxury. The castle allows guests to experience the bygone era and relax in the wonderfully luxurious calming atmosphere. Outside the formal gardens are surrounded by rolling Scottish countryside with woodland, riverside and hill walks all being on your doorstep.
