The fabulous Kinnaird Castle could be your base for a week should you choose this wonderful apartment for a holiday! The Macduff Tower is a glorious holiday home and is part of the main castle so it feels as if you are staying in the wonderful stately country house itself. The Macduff has its own private courtyard entrance and as you climb the old stone staircase to the second floor you are aware of the special atmosphere of this lovely place.

The Macduff is extremely spacious with very generous rooms sizes, open fires and spectacular views over the deer park and gardens.  It has a charmingly comfortable feel with original Kinnaird antiques and the understated luxury of good quality. The master bedroom has a 4 poster bed and a large bathroom with original clawfoot bath and power shower. All the other bedrooms are large and bright. Each bedroom has its own bathroom  – a rarity in buildings of this age – so it is a great holiday house for family groups.

Outside you are free to enjoy the grounds of the estate complete with red and fallow deer in the Park, red squirrels and a myriad of birdlife. There are walks throughout the parkland. Fishing may be arranged through the estate and a small secluded garden area is laid aside for you so that you can enjoy picnics, games or just a quiet moment in this beautiful place. The Castle can arrange catering and housekeeping upon request.

This area is wonderful to explore from the birdlife of the Montrose basin, the lovely beaches of Lunan Bay and of course championship golf on your doorstep with Carnoustie and St Andrews nearby. The Angus Glens are a worthwhile trip as is the Cairngorm National Park and Royal Deeside and numerous castles open to the public.

A further 2 bedrooms (1 double, 1 twin and a bathroom) are available on request for larger parties. The Macduff can be rented at reduced cost for 4 people. Alternatively you could consider taking both the Macduff and the Barony for parties up to 23(+1) please note the larger dining room seats a max of 16 at one time.
