Fawsyde House is an enchanting Victorian mansion house built in the style of a grand Scottish hunting lodge and is surrounded by glorious gardens complete with flower beds, stone statues, lawns and woodland, not to mention the Gothic folly. Recently refurbished, the house, has an exceptional quality of décor with luxury standard in all rooms, and is an engaging blend of classical features with contemporary overtones. A wonderful drawing room which its rich décor and exquisite antique furniture, has an elegant sophistication, whilst the dramatic dining room with its black marble fireplace, charcoal damask wallpaper, silk drapes and chandelier, is a magnificent setting for dinner parties. The library, study and winter sitting room provide comfortable snug retreats with wood burning stoves, leather sofas and tweed clad chairs, ideal for those quieter moments spent with a good novel or watching tv; or perhaps guests may prefer to spend time in the games room. The state of the art kitchen with a dining table, seating area and French doors, is spacious and well equipped. Every thought has been given to the guests’ convenience and is perfect for catering for larger parties with duplicate appliances, huge fridges and freezers, and a large range cooker, ideal for even the most discerning chef. Each of the seven sumptuous bedrooms has its own individual style but all have luxury and comfort in common and all benefit from en-suite facilities.

Activities:
- Fishing – The world class salmon rivers of the North and South Esk, River Dee and River Don (also renowned for its brown trout) are all in the area
- Shooting and stalking is available locally
- Historic properties – Visit. Arbuthnott House and gardens or Dunnottar Castle, a dramatic and evocative ruin, perched on the cliffs and used as a film location for Mel Gibsons’ Hamlet. There are many National Trust for Scotland properties within easy reach of Fawsyde, including Crathes Castle, House of Dun and Craigivar Castle. Or visit Balmoral holiday home of the royals.
- Birdwatching – birders will delight in the Montrose Basin where the Nature Reserve provides a perfect habitat for many migrant and resident species. or visit Fowlsheugh RSPB Reserve one of the most exciting and largest seabird colony on mainland Britain, with something in the order of 160,000 birds.
- Golf – many excellent courses locally and the Championship course at Carnoustie is less than an hours drive.
- Sea Angling – charter a boat from the picuresque fishing port of Stonehaven
- Touring – ideally placed for trips to the coastline with its sandy bays and spectacular cliffs or head to the hills, with the Angus Glens, Royal Deeside and the Cairngorn National Park within easy reach.
