- Cycling - many on and off road routes for all abilities
- Walking - The “Moray Coast Trail” covers almost the entire 50 miles of Moray’s coast, linking the settlements between Forres and Cullen, passing sandy beaches, fishing villages, estuaries teaming with bird life and rugged rocky coastlines.
- Golfing at local courses where visitors are welcome, Duff House Royal Golf Club in Banff & Tarlair Golf club in Macduff.
- Bird and sealife watching at Macduff Marine Aquarium -Visitors come face to face with hundreds of native fish and invertebrates normally only seen by SCUBA divers who brave the chilly waters of the North Sea.
- Visiting Historic properties in the castle trail including Duff House Banff, a splendid Adams mansion which has a permanent collection including paintings and furniture in the care of the National Galleries of Scotland.
- Visiting famous distilleries on the Whisky Trail, North East Whisky Trail including Glenlivet and Glenfiddich distilleries.
- Sailing & diving – Moray Firth is a popular sailing destination. Scottish Traditional Boat Festival is now one of the premier small boat festivals in the United Kingdom. This festival takes place in the village of Portsoy, approximately seven miles west of Banff, every June.
- Dolphin watching – take a boat trip to spot the Moray Firth resident population of Bottlenosed Dolphins, along with seals, porpoises and the occasional Minke Whale.
