High Glencloy House is peacefully situated in beautiful Glen Cloy, surrounded by hills, woodland, and a large garden – good for bird watching and spotting wildlife. It's a characterful old farmhouse, third in a row of three properties, all owned by the same family. Glen Cloy is one of several glens around Brodick, the island's main village and location of the ferry terminal, which is an easy mile's walk or drive away, and offers plenty of shops and places to eat out, but is not too close for those of you who want a peaceful time. And if you don't want to do much driving while you're on holiday, there are plenty of pretty and interesting walks within easy reach, whether you want a gentle stroll or a full day's hike.
Accommodation: This traditional Arran farmhouse is a very spacious self-catering property with an open-plan kitchen and dining area, featuring an oil-fired Aga for cooking and heating. Meals can be taken looking out on green fields across the glen while, at the back of the house, the huge living room overlooks the garden and has comfortable sofas, a wood-burning stove, flat screen TV, and a selection of books and DVDs.
