This quiet and extraordinary peninsula must be one of the most beautiful places in Scotland with its stunning views across the sea loch to Isle of Ewe and the mountains beyond. On a clear day you can see as far as the great mountains of Suilven in Sutherland and other names to conjure with such as An Teallach and Stac Polly. It is an outstandingly beautiful area with the nearby National Trust gem – Inverewe Gardens at the head of the loch. The water here is crystal clear and seals and even otters are inhabitants.
2 Cove is the last house along the road which ends just beyond and you have thousands of acres of estate ground, hills and lochs as well as the shoreline and Cove Harbour to explore. The house itself is enchanting – a traditional whitewashed farmhouse and a much loved family home that has been sympathetically and beautifully refurbished so that much of the beautiful original features are retained. The tongue and groove panelled walls and open fires are reminiscent of a different era whilst the new spacious kitchen diner is perfect for social modern lifestyles. The bedrooms vary in size with two original bedrooms having beautiful sea views. The bathrooms are new, fresh and clean and there is plenty of garden space for youngsters to play and of course views that you could enjoy forever.
This is a family home and full of character and the casual stylishness that makes for a comfortable and laid back holiday. The estate includes 35 trout lochs which contain some very good trout and there is a large sea trout loch with a boat and stalking can be arranged by contacting the estate (additional charge applies). Inverewe Gardens is a “must see” and visit some of the wonderful pink sand beaches round Gairloch. The Firemor Beach a short walk away from the house is considered by some to be amongst the most beautiful in Britain - you will be captivated by this area.
