A completely separate wing of Foulis Castle, the Pavilion enjoys all the benefits of this wonderfully peaceful location. With the estate on your doorstep, you have beautiful woodland, hills and farmland to explore and nearby the beaches and golf courses of Easter Ross to enjoy.

The Pavilion, at one time the Castle laundry takes it’s name from a square pavilion, part of a defensive tower with it’s atmospheric stone floors, five foot thick walls and keyhole gunports built between 1450 and 1550. The upper portion now forms the very attractive first floor sitting room with it’s large arched open fireplace tastefully decorated with antique furniture and family portraits. A passage leads to two comfortable ensuite bedrooms (one twin, one double). Downstairs there is a spacious dining room with a similar sized kitchen area separated by an archway, off which is the small entrance hall and cloakroom with wc. A sensible clothes drying cupboard is positioned just off the dining room.

Decoration is traditional throughout and this completely self contained apartment provides very comfortable holiday accommodation for four that is just full of character in a marvellously tranquil and historic location. The original parts of the Castle date back to the 16th century whilst the majority of the current building is 18th century. There is a real sense of history here at the ancient seat of the Clan Munro Chiefs who still own the Castle after 33 generations, as well as beautiful views and walks.

This lovely area has a wealth of activities. Wildlife abounds with red kites to see on the nearby Black Isle, dolphins in the Firth and seals are regularly seen basking at the beach less than a fifteen minute walk below the Castle where you can also enjoy a delicious meal at The Storehouse of Foulis restaurant and learn about the Clan history in the visitor centre. Inverness city is but ½ hour away or you may prefer to travel over to the west coast for the day. Many great salmon rivers are in the area as well as excellent trout fishing.
