Set in stunning scenery at the end of a private track, this former Boatman’s home has been restored and extended to provide comfortable accommodation and commands spectacular views from nearly every window. This traditional cottage has thick stone walls, electric heating and an open fire, making it a cosy home for all seasons. With access to a private jetty only 150 yards away, it is a haven for canoeists, sailors and anglers.
Loch Awe is one of Scotland’s largest freshwater lochs renowned for its trout and pike fishing and also home to a huge variety of wonderful birds and wildlife. With regular sightings of heron, osprey and eagles it is a birdwatcher’s paradise. There is also a good chance of spotting red squirrel in the surrounding woodland or even an otter, wildcat or pine marten.
This welcoming, clean and bright holiday home is a peaceful retreat amid breathtaking scenery and amazing wildlife. It is the perfect haven to explore this area which is rich in its varied attractions.

Bright sitting/dining room with open fire and glass door onto patio with wonderful views across Loch Awe, well equipped kitchen with large picture window, 1 double bedroom and 1 small bunk room.

Activities:
Boat or bicycle hire available at Dalavich (4.5 miles). Numerous local forest cycling and walking routes. Loch fishing for trout and pike. 4 miles from Taynuilt is the renowned Inverawe Smokeries and Country Park, with gourmet shop/tearoom offering a wide selection of award winning smoked food. Fly fishing on stocked pools, an Angling School, and smokery exhibition. For the keen climber, Ben Cruachan at 1126m is the local “Munro”. There are also many other Munros within easy reach. Visit the award winning Cruachan Power Station – hidden deep within Ben Cruachan is one of the country’s most amazing engineering achievements where enormous turbines convert the power of water into electricity.

Dalavich (4.5 miles) with shop/café. Kilchrenan (5 miles) has an Inn as well as two wonderful loch side hotels offering gourmet dining. The thriving village of Taynuilt (12 miles) has a 9 hole golf course, a butcher, well stocked local shop, hairdresser, antique shop and an excellent coffee shop as well as trains to Oban and Glasgow. The harbour town of Oban is 24 miles and has a full range of shops and restaurants, many offering freshly caught seafood, cinema, 18 hole golf course and a sports leisure complex. Ferries to Mull and the islands.
