One of three houses on the Borrobol Estate, the cottage is accessed via the farm road across a river ford and sits privately within a walled garden in a peaceful and quiet location, ideal for families and those with young children. Larger parties can also book Gardeners House, Crocdhu Cottage and Dalcharn House together - an ideal combination to accommodate up to 16 people. Borrobol is an ideal base from which to explore the wider Northern Highlands with the beaches and golf courses of Brora, Golspie and Dornoch and the attractions of Helmsdale’s Timespan Heritage Centre, Golspie’s Dunrobin Castle, the Queen Mother’s Castle of Mey and John o’ Groats all within easy reach. Wherever you choose to go you will be assured of spectacular views and a very warm welcome.
Get out and explore; walk or cycle round the fields and tracks of the estate or those not so energetic enjoy a leisurely stroll or just sit and take in the views by the riverside. Rough shooting and stalking is available subject to prior arrangement with the owners and fishing is included with the cottage on one of Scotland’s finest hill lochs, Loch Ascaig, for which there is a boat and kayak included for your exclusive use. This loch is 1 mile from the cottage and is ideally suited to all abilities from beginners to experts.

Activities:
- Fishing – Dalcharn House has its own boat on Loch Ascaig and you will enjoy trout fishing on this prolific loch. River fishing is also available on the estate
- Red Deer Stag and Hind Stalking - On Borrobol throughout the stalking seasons, subject to availability.
- Woodcock Shooting - Available in season and by prior arrangement with owner
- Walking - Wonderful walking country. Access restricted during the main stalking season in August and September and during the winter hind cull.
- Boating - A canoe, kayak and rowing boat are kept on Loch Ascaig and are freely available for guests’ use. Life jackets provided.
- Swimming - Loch swimming can be enjoyed from a small sandy beach on Loch Ascaig.
