Balnahard is the ideal base for touring the Highlands of Scotland with Fort William and Ben Nevis 45 minutes drive to the west, Aviemore and the Cairngorms 45minutes drive to the east, Inverness one hour north and Perth one hour to the south. There are distilleries, castles, the osprey centre, a steam railway all nearby. Walkers will love both the low levels walks and the more demanding routes, with many Munros within easy reach, whilst mountain bikers must visit Wolftrax, which provides 18km of off road mountain tracks, in the most beautiful scenery, to suit all abilities. With skiing at Aviemore and Aonach Mor both less than an hour away, and with canoeing, sailing, windsurfing and fishing all available at Loch Insh, there is plenty to keep all the family amused for a long time.
Fishing and shooting can all be arranged locally and stalking can be arranged with the estate.
