Positioned down a quiet country lane, this peaceful, well furnished home creates the perfect relaxing holiday base and offers a cosy retreat after a long day exploring this beautiful area.
Originally dating back to the late 1800’s, this romantic Scottish cottage has been fully renovated offering all the modern conveniences required for comfortable self-catering, yet still retains its traditional charm. The elegant and spacious sitting room has hardwood flooring, relaxing seating and a wood burning stove making it inviting and snug at all times of year. The conservatory is a wonderful spot to sit and enjoy the well-kept garden and the view across the fields to the river. The fully-equipped kitchen, with its fun stable door, opens onto a patio area where summer dining and barbeques can be enjoyed.
Nestling within Argyll Forest Park and Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park, the surrounding area boasts a wonderful range of scenery, with magnificent mountains, beautiful wooded glens from which burns and waterfalls cascade into the deep lochs creating the perfect location for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts. The wildlife is magical with roe deer, seals, red squirrels and many varieties of birds, including herons, hawks, lapwings, woodpeckers, kestrels and golden eagles among many others.

Activities: The Cowal Peninsula, with its beautiful open scenery, offers a wide range of activities including walking and cycling with many wonderful forest trails, sailing on the beautiful waters of the Firth of Clyde, a challenging 18 hole golf course, trout, salmon & sea trout fishing, as well as horse-riding, quad biking or just relaxing at the local leisure club. Cowal is home to several beautiful gardens including Arkinglas Woodland Garden which has one of the finest collections of rhododendrons and conifers within the British Isles and the 150 acre Benmore Botanic Gardens. The nearby Puck’s Glen also offers a magical forest walk between Rashfield and Benmore Gardens. Dunoon’s Castle House Museum allows you to discover the exciting history of the area from ancient times to present day. There are 40 acres of land bordering the river which belong to the cottage freely available for picnicking or just enjoying.
