Whinview Cottage is situated near Ulbster in Caithness in the far north of Scotland, an area well known for its rugged and unspoilt beauty. Previously a croft cottage, the property now provides delightful and cosy modernised holiday accommodation for 2. However this holiday cottage still retains its charm and traditional features such as the stone fireplace, offering the best of old and new. The property also benefits from a sun lounge which enjoys sea views.
There are a variety of activities on offer in the surrounding area. Fishing may be arranged for trout on local lochs and the beautiful scenery offers great potential for gentle walks in the countryside. Should you wish to venture further afield day trips can be made to Orkney or a visit to the Castle of Mey former home of the late Queen Mother. Spending a romantic weekend in our holiday cottages will make a little fairy tale in your life and stay in your memory forever!

Forest tracks at Rumster, Achairn & Camster provide woodland walks and an off road cycling facility.

cairns & brochs which pre date the pyramids are a feature of the local landscape. The Grey Cairns of Camster & the ever-popular Yarrows Heritage Trail are both nearby and are a ‘must see’.

Permits can be obtained for local trout lochs – Loch Watenan is just 5 minutes walk from the cottage. Sea angling trips can be arranged from main harbours.
