Nestled against a wooded hillside, above the historic village of Weem, The Turret House enjoys the most spectacular views across Strathtay to the Perthshire hills beyond. Recently built to a traditional design, this stunning country house provides holiday accommodation of the highest standard, with a truly wonderful contemporary interior. Quality finishes including Damascus Fossil sandstone floors with underfloor heating, oak doors, and a computerised lighting system providing light to suit all moods including lighting the steps as you climb the hand built white ash spiral staircase. The wonderful sitting room with huge stylish sofas and welcoming open fire, has a large bay window with extensive views and allows the light to flood in, whilst the state of the art kitchen with French doors out to the patio and mood lighting, is a lovely room for dining “a deux” or for larger family meals. Four large bedrooms with Egyptian cotton linen from The White Co. provide a sumptuous retreat for guests to enjoy, and as with the rest of the house, the fabulous décor and furnishings giving a real feeling of luxury and comfort.
Surrounded by the wonderful scenery, there is much to do in Perthshire at any time of the year. Sportsmen are able to enjoy many activities on the doorstep, ranging from white water rafting and climbing, to the more sedate pursuits of golf, fishing or sailing, whilst nature lovers can visit the National Nature Reserve of Ben Lawers, Perthshire’s highest Munro, renowned for its abundance of rare alpine flora. Strathtay is steeped in history and folklore with many castles within a short distance including Castle Menzies, Blair Castle and Scone Palace, or guests can visit the reconstructed Bronze Age Crannog at Kenmore. Highland Perthshire has more than its fair share of distilleries which are always worth a visit if only to bring back a small sample to enjoy of an evening on the patio of the Turret House looking over the terraced garden to the hills beyond.
