As you drive through the delightful conservation village of Barr, the scene is set for a very special location for this lovely holiday house. Following the single track road up the valley alongside the river, there is a real sense of peace and solitude and when you reach this beautiful 18th century house the beautiful woodlands, fine trees and gardens and stunning views are everything you hoped.
The house has been recently refurbished with great thought to create an excellent holiday house. The rooms are spacious and attractive with many original features such as the old cooking range still there, but with all the modern appliances you would expect including a 42” TV screen. There is a wonderful Games Room with a full sized American Pool Table, darts board and table football so everyone will be able to have fun no matter what the weather and for those who need to the Internet the house has WiFi broadband in place.
The bedrooms are all very comfortable with the second floor bedroom with its combed ceilings an ideal fun room for children and the bathrooms are fresh and modern. The kitchen is an excellent space for socialising with a large table, plenty of work space and good quality equipment such as the Range cooker with 7 burners. A separate dining room is perfect for more formal meals and the large attractive drawing room with its welcoming wood burning stove is the perfect spot to unwind at the end of the day. There are marvellous views from all rooms.
Outside the gardens which extend to 3.5 acres are lovely, with mature trees and wonderful views across the valley to Changue Forest with all its woodland walks. For the more energetic there are mountain biking trails on your doorstep so you can cycle for 19 miles from the house without ever touching a road or perhaps try some fishing on the nearby River Stinchar (licences available locally).
