This type of luxuriously appointed house in such a stunning location is rarely available as a holiday house. Balvraid Steading is newly converted and has been done with great style, quality and atmosphere and the views from the wide windows at the front across the sea and Loch Fleet are breathtaking. The Caithness slate floors throughout the ground floor create a perfect finish in keeping with the house and underfloor heating ensures warmth and comfort.
The very spacious and stylish kitchen is a cook’s delight and there is ample space to both cook and socialise. The public areas form the whole of the ground floor and the kitchen leads through to the atmospheric dining room and on to the wonderful sitting room with its double height ceiling, woodburning stove and minstrel gallery. A further family room also with woodburner, gives you ample space for those wanting to enjoy some peace and quiet or for children to play or watch TV on the plasma screen . Along the front of the house there are three sets of large French doors and in the fine weather the patio and garden can be an integral part of this wonderful house.
The first floor is accessed by two separate staircases set in to the charming turrets. There are three bedrooms at one end one with an en suite shower room and one with an en suite Bathroom. There is also a separate family bathroom. At the other end are two further bedrooms again both have ensuite facilities.
A new and stylish annexe in the rear courtyard has been built with a further 3 double/twin bedrooms each with its own en suite shower room. These rooms offer the same high standard of furniture and finish as Balvraid Steading and are available only with the Steading. The annexe is only a few steps away from the main building and perfect if you like a little more peace and quiet. The prices are per room per week so enquire for availabilty and prices.
There is ample parking in the enclosed rear courtyard and a lawned garden to the front with patio to enjoy the stunning views.
This enchanting holiday house is located down a single track road and well away from the road. The estate land runs down to the sea shore where you can enjoy many hours walking or searching for crabs and shells and there is a wonderful sand beach only 10 minutes away.
