In a glorious setting with views down Loch Etive to the sea, surrounded by the magnificent mountains of Glencoe and Glen Etive, this shooting lodge offers a wonderful base for those who enjoy the great outdoors. A paradise for hill walkers and artists alike, here you will have the opportunity to see red deer, roe deer, seals, ptarmigan and eagles. Next to Glencoe, Glen Etive is almost a secret glen, down a single track road beside the River Etive, which bubbles over round boulders or rages spectacularly through deep pools and gorges.
Glen Etive Estate offers something for everyone, from the most challenging mountaineering on the Buchaille Etive and the Trilleachan Slabs, to a tranquil amble with picnic down to its beautful river, open hill walks up its many Munros - which include Bidean Nan Bian the highest mountain in Argyll at 3,700 feet - and woodland walks and camp building. Skiing is available during winter months at the nearby Glencoe Mountain Resort. By arrangement you can catch brown trout in hill lochs or have outings on the sea loch with boat and motor. The estate has an Argocat, Land Rover and a pony. Should you wish, a cook and housekeeper could be arranged as can photographic stalking and guided walks.
Glen Etive House is encircled by a large informal lawn, which provides a wonderful play area for children. In the evening and early morning red deer can be seen grazing on the lawns within 50m of the house. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and the property is warm, with oil central heating, double glazing and a large open fire in the sitting room.
