This traditional cottage sits amid some of the most beautiful scenery in the Highlands — dramatic and peaceful, the hills and streams of Perthshire offer a beautiful backdrop to your escape to Scotland

This traditional Highland cottage is charming in character and sits on a working farm in some of the most beautiful and rugged countryside in Perthshire. With views of rolling hills and farmland from every room in the cottage, you really will feel like you’re alone in the Scottish wilderness. Its remote and isolated location makes it the perfect retreat for friends and family who are seeking privacy, peace and tranquillity.

Converted to retain its traditional style, the cottage is welcoming and homely. Spacious and light, it combines traditional features such as Gothic windows and coombed ceilings with contemporary skylights and modern-day furnishings and fittings. The large utility/boot room provides peace of mind that muddy boots and clothing can easily be removed and hung up, after a day spent exploring. Through the use of little personal touches, this property makes a comfortable family home away from home.

Situated over two floors there is a large sitting room with the cosy addition of a woodburner, perfect for snuggling up in front of on those colder evenings. The kitchen/dining room is spacious and the perfect space to sit and chat with family whilst preparing those home-cooked feasts. The family bathroom with a shower cubicle is also on the ground floor. On the first-floor are the light and airy bedrooms with glorious views over the surrounding wilderness.

Outside, the cottage benefits from a large enclosed garden with only a stone wall separating you from the rugged Highland landscape. This makes the perfect outdoor space for children to run around in or to sit quietly and observe the passing native wildlife that regularly frequents these farmlands.

At this Highland cottage, you are surrounded by mountainous landscapes engulfed with forests, lochs and rivers offering some spectacular walks and scenery. Centrally located, this cottage is an ideal base from which you can discover Perthshire and some of the many hidden gems Scotland has to offer.

The city of Perth (24 miles) is just an approximate forty-minute drive away and is jam packed with things to see and do. This beautiful ancient city sits on the banks of the River Tay and is steeped in historical monuments, art galleries, museums, bustling cobbled streets, Georgian townhouses, restaurants, boutiques and so much more. You will not be disappointed with a day trip to this bustling city.

Closer to home there is the Tay Forest Park (12 miles) which has a selection of woodland trails for walkers and cyclists, winding through the forest and up through the tree tops to viewpoints over lochs and mountains that will simply take your breath away. Or visit the picturesque village of Dunkeld (10 miles), classed as one of the most pretty and preserved historic towns in Scotland. Take a relaxing walk along the River Tay and visit its striking cathedral or sample some of the local independent shops and eateries in this picture-postcard little village.

We loved this cottage and had a great holiday. Its located in a beautiful location and there is a lot of bird life to see. Its really clean and comfortable and it was well set up for taking dogs with a good size utility room and a separate entrance. The water does have a greenish colour which slightly unnerved the children (having a bath) but this Read moreis just due to the water coming from the moorland. Hide

Wow what a beautiful place and we were lucky to have some snow, which made a perfect Xmas. We lost electricity for 30 hrs because of the snow which was fun, the wood burner was a god send for warming water and food. A great cottage with everything you needed for a perfect stay. Location was amazing, with great walks and breathtaking scenery right on the doorstep. Plenty of things to do locally in Aberfeldy, Pitlochry and beyond.

This was our second stay at Croftmill but 7 years apart and this time with 2 young children in tow. We loved it just as much if not more this time. We had incredible weather which made for spectacular views and great for wildlife spotting. The cottage itself it beautiful with plenty of space and lovely and clean. Thus is a comfortable cottage in a beautiful rural location. The cottage is warm & well equipped with some lovely walks on the doorstep and easy access to Dunkeld, Crieff and beyond. It should be noted that the 'private water source' mentioned in the listing means that water should be boiled before being drank. This was our second visit to the property but we were very disappointed this time. There were no shower facilities when we stayed as the shower was broken, this meant we had to bathe in water from the local stream, which was brown as the property does not have mains water. The lack of mains water should be highlighted as it means visitors need to bRead morering bottled water to drink from. The property is very basic, and does not feel very welcoming. Just returned from a fabulous weekend at Croftmill Cottage and already trying to figure out when we can visit again! Beautiful views and such a homely feel to the accommodation. Our family had a super lovely holiday here. The cottage was the perfect size for the 5 of us (2 adults and 3 teenagers), and was extremely clean and very well equipped. It's in a beautiful location with plenty of interesting small towns within half an hour's drive as well as being a convenient base for day trips further afield. Highly recommended.

Lovely rustic cottage in quiet area. We stayed here for the Enchanted Forest in Pitlochry. We also visited Perth and Crieff so close by for everything we wanted. Would recommend.

The cottage was very comfortable and cosy, and had everything we required for our stay. The beds were very comfortable and there were plenty towels. Nice big bath towels too . Although the lounge was comfortable, we preferred to sit in the sunny kitchen where we could see all around us.
