Perfect for a fishing trip or family adventure holiday for four, this cosy cottage is ideally located for exploring Scotland''s spectacular Tay Forest Park.

Set on the edge of the Allean Forest with amazing views of Loch Tummel through the trees, this warm and welcoming holiday cottage is ideally located for exploring the Perthshire countryside. The famous Queen’s View iconic viewpoint is less than half a mile from the property. Sleeping four, it’s great for outdoor-loving friends and small families looking for a rural and peaceful retreat.

The cottage exudes country character and charm, with an eclectic style that means no two rooms are the same. Soft, neutral decor is followed by splashes of bold colour and design, making it a wonderfully unique property that you will be thrilled to call home, even for just a few days. The cottage has its own private water supply, with a starter pack of bottled water supplied on arrival. With no Wi-Fi or mobile coverage, it’s a fantastic spot to go off-grid and reconnect with nature and your loved ones.

After a busy day of exploring, enter the cottage through the front door and head into the cosy lounge, where you can spend a relaxing evening unwinding beside the open fire on the comfortable sofas. Prepare some delicious scran in the fully-equipped country-style kitchen, dining together in the adjoining dining room. Then retreat to the double bedroom for a peaceful night’s sleep, waking up to incredible far-reaching country views from the window the next morning.

On the first floor, two twin bedrooms provide the perfect sleeping spot for children and additional guests, with a cot provided for young families to allow everyone to enjoy a peaceful retreat. There is also a bathroom at the cottage.

Take in the bonnie view from the enclosed garden. Dine alfresco on the picnic bench or simply enjoy your morning cuppa here before exploring the many footpaths and cycle routes the area boasts.

Discover the area's history, geology and wildlife at the National Trust for Scotland's Killiecrankie Gorge (5.5 miles) – the site of one of the goriest battles in Jacobite history, where you'll find the famous 18-foot-wide Soldier's Leap.

Speaking of leaps, take a jump into the unknown with bungee jumping at the Garry Bridge in Killiecrankie (4.5 miles), where a few seconds of heart-thumping bliss provides an exhilarating view of the Perthshire countryside. Or stay on solid ground and meet the magnificent wildlife at Highland Safaris and Red Deer Centre (17 miles).

Get a taste for Scottish whiskies at one of the local distilleries. Visit one of the oldest working distilleries in Scotland at Blair Athol Distillery (7 miles) or one of the country's smallest at Edradour Distillery (8.5 miles), or perhaps tour Dewar's Aberfeldy Distillery and explore the interactive museum (20.5 miles).

You aren't too far from a Pitlochry's festival theatre and wide selection of shops here either, with the town just 6 miles away.

Lovely cottage, warm, comfy, with everything we needed for a few days away. It would benefit from a deeper clean from time to time to clear the cobwebs but it certainly didn't spoil our visit. Great garden and perfectly secure for dogs. All in all, lovely cottage to spend a few days exploring the area.

Really good provision of everything you could need. Decor was old fashioned but added to the homeliness of the place. We had four dogs with us and the grounds were ideal for them because they had freedom to roam in the garden. Excellent location. Loved feeding the birds. We saw a red squirrel in the trees nearby. Me, my wife and dog really enjoyed our stay, everything needed was there and many extras. The garden was secure, and birds on the provided feeders were plenty. The house was comfortable and well located. My 3 mobile had no signal, but my wife on EE had full signal and 4G. We would gladly return and recommend.

Would recommend a stay in this homely cottage. You get used to the quirks of the water supply system. Cheapest place to buy bottled water was the co op in Pitlochry at 1.50p for 5 litres.
