Enjoying panoramic sea views and an idyllic raised position on the south-west coast of Arran, this traditional cottage makes the perfect bolthole for large families or groups.
This wonderful Arran lodge with panoramic sea views is just 1 mile from the popular village of Blackwaterfoot. It’s ideal for golfers, hikers, or those quite simply looking to explore the historic Isle of Arran. This charming property comfortably sleeps a group of ten, and its various lounge areas, spacious kitchen and downstairs bedroom ensure it ticks the boxes for guests both young and old.
This cottage is filled to the brim with character; from its exposed stone walls to original wooden beams, it’s a true reminder that you’re enjoying a countryside break. Scottish culture is represented in tartan soft furnishings and pictures of local landscapes which adorn the walls. Whilst the shared areas are thoughtfully decorated, the bedrooms have been kept wonderfully minimalist in order to allow you to settle in and make the place your own.
Downstairs you’ll find three spacious lounge areas in which to relax, perfect for adults and teenagers who want to do their own thing. The main living room benefits from a warming wood burner and generous basket of logs, as well as plenty of space to lounge on the sofa. Watch Sky TV in here, or head through to the sun room where French doors lead onto the garden, a perfect spot for enjoying a family board game. You’ll find two options for dining: the casual breakfast table in the kitchen or the more formal separate dining room. A sociable breakfast in the kitchen can be enjoyed alongside far-reaching views of the surrounding countryside. Finally, this floor benefits from a spacious double bedroom and bathroom with a walk-in shower.
The remaining bedrooms can be found upstairs, via the main staircase in the hallway. One of these bedrooms is a king-size master bedroom with a cot for your youngest guest, and another room on this floor is a spacious family room with two singles and one bunk bed, perfectly sleeping four older children. Kids will also love the snug, which has been thoughtfully tucked under the eaves of the home and is accessible via a unique spiral staircase. Here you’ll find a sofa and TV ideal for a film night.
Find no issue when it comes to parking your car, as the front of the property is a spacious gravelled area that can easily accommodate many vehicles. The house is surrounded by seemingly endless fields and lawn, so kids won’t be short of space to run around, however you’ll find an enclosed private garden to the rear for extra safety. Enjoy a summer BBQ in your back garden, dining at the outdoor table and sitting back on the sun loungers. Here you’ll also find an enclosed dog kennel for your four-legged guest.
