Description

Prospect Hill Studio is one of four small properties situated in a quiet position with its own private garden and marvelous view across the sea to the Holy Isle and mainland beyond. A wonderful decked area to the front of the holiday house is a perfect spot for meals - breakfast on the deck and watch the sun rise over Lamlash Bay or enjoy a glass of wine in the evening watching the ever changing colours of the sea. The self catering studio has been completely refurbished and is equipped to provide everything that a couple could need. The compact space has a small double bedroom, a shower/dressing room with wash hand basin and incorporated wardrobe space, separate WC including wash hand basin, a fitted kitchen on the ground floor, whilst the lounge is upstairs with its sea views for you to enjoy. The village of Lamlash is situated about 1/2 mile away and has several shops, pubs and one or two small hotels with restaurants as well as activities such as tennis, golf, bowls and the seashore to explore. There are also a number of scenic walks on Arran within easy reach of the holiday property.

    Our second visit to prospect hill studio with our dog and we can't wait to return next year. Fantastic location and view, private sunny deck and garden. Very pleasant walk to the village of Lamlash, best food and welcome at doggy friendly Pier Head tavern. Very comfortable cosy accommodation, well equipped for all your needs, we loved it.

    Great studio in beautiful surroundings. Was perfect for our brief 3 day visit to the island. The studio had everything we need. Clean, tidy, facilities for cooking, and good heating. Stunning view of Holy Isle from upstairs in the studio. Only a few minutes walk from the Lamlash shops, bar and restaurants. The owners were great. Very hospitable. A lovely welcome card and a bottle of wine was waiting for us when we arrived. The only one problem we had was keeping in touch with of our emails. We couldn't get a phone signal on Lamlash, and because there was no internet in the studio, we couldn't check our emails there. If it had an internet connection, it would have been a 5 star review. However, maybe the lack of internet is the attraction for some people. And the owners and agency were transparent about having no internet. Despite this, I would still highly recommend this studio, and I would go back again. Thank you!

    Beautiful cosy accomodation with fantastic views and easy access to great walks. So nice to be able to take the dogs with us on holiday. The house was beautifully decorated for Christmas and looked very welcoming. The New Year's card and bottle of bubbly was such a nice touch. The owners were very helpful and friendly. Would thoroughly recommend a holiday here- can't wait to go back again!

    Compact little house in a wonderful position to enjoy a peaceful holiday. Location ideal - tucked away with a stunning view yet handy for access to all amenities. Recommend a visit to Arran outdoor shop for all your walking needs. Directions were easy to follow to find the house on arrival and we had all the facilities we needed once there. So nice to find a house for 2 that allows waggy tails to stay too. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

    Lovely little studio for two of us plus dog. Compact and easy to keep tidy and great use of space. Lovely views of the Holy Isle and Lamlash Bay. Peaceful but an easy and pleasant walk of about a mile into Lamlash. Saw seals frequently on the walk in, as well a red squirrel in our garden. We also had great neighbours in the next door property. Pier Head Tavern in the village allowed dogs and so had 2 nice meals there. A perfect break in a lovely small property with all the equipment you need.

    The cottage is quite small, just about OK for 2 people. The bedroom is downstairs and the lounge upstairs, which is actually a good thing as you can benefit from the fantastic views, across to Holy Island. Whilst the cottage is fairly petite, the bathroom is quite big and there is a separate loo. There are enough electric heaters around to keep the warm. It is really well equipped and is in a quiet location, with no passing traffic. All in all, we had a enjoyable stay and if we return to Arran, would certainly consider using Prospect Hill Studio again.

    It was our first visit to Arran and we stayed at Prospect Hill Studio at the beginning of May for 5 nights, not long enough! We were accompanied by our Labrador Bella who cant wait to return next year. Good location within short walking distance of Lamlash, superb views over the sea, small but well appointed accommodation, very comfortable and everything you could possibly need, lovely deck to the front which is a real sun trap all day long. Lots of lovely walks, and natural coastal scenery, some good places to eat in Lamlash, particular mention to doggy friendly Pierhead Tavern, good food and good beer.

    Prospect Hill Studio is perfect for a relaxing break for 2 people. It is very compact but well planned and has a wonderful view of Holy Island. The beach at Blackwaterfoot is great for dog walking and we love playing golf on the different courses on the island.

    We have never had such a peaceful place to stay with fantastic views over to holy Island I would recommend to anyone.The owners were very helpful as Ferry Strike was happening and they contacted us to let us know. Also beforehand they couldn't do enough for us. They even left a bottle of wine :-). The studio was as it says and for us two its just what we wanted as so many cottages are for four plus and then gets more expensive. We got home to Cardiff and we both felt as though we had had a holiday. Seal watching was fab as they we just on the beach and so much wildlife.

    We really enjoyed our stay at Prospect Hill. It is a cosy apartment for two with magnificent views over to Holy Island. The house is well equipped with quality fittings (included a super electric blanket for those chilly nights!) and is bright and clean, We saw red squirrels on the lawn, numerous sea birds and seals resting on the rocks at the shore. Walking into Lamlash takes about 20 mins with wonderful views all the way. Great holiday destination.

    Accommodation spotless in a stunning setting.View just amazing perfect spot for people wanting a peaceful holiday away from it all but not remote everything short drive away.     Lovely little cottage. Small but not cramped though the bedroom was a bit snug! If there had been more than two of us (plus dog) then it would have been far too crowded and after all there were only two chairs for the table. Kitchen well equipped, but no sharp knives! Upstairs living room has a lovely view over Holy Isle. Owners seemed very nice.

    Cottages & Castles Ltd. (acting as agents for property owners) provides a guarantee for tenants who have to cancel their holiday at a cottage.

    If it is necessary to cancel your holiday, for any of the reasons A 1-5 below, you may do so at any time up until the close of business on the last working day before your tenancy commences and we will refund your balance. Your deposit is not refundable. If you have made a late booking and paid in full you will receive your payment minus the normal deposit sum (usually 30%).

    There is no charge for this holiday protection – it is included in the cost of your holiday. Please note that the protection does not apply to holidays in our properties with codes beginning with P (usually castles, mansions and lodges).

    Deposits may be transferred to a different date for a holiday at the same property within 12 months of the original holiday date, subject to availability, but not, however, for a different property. If the new booking is at a higher rate the tenant must pay the extra cost. No refund will be made if the new date is at a lower rate.

    A:
    1. Death, accidental bodily injury, or illness (excluding pre-existing or chronic illness/conditions, or illness arising through epidemics or pandemics)
    a) the Proposer and/or persons with whom he/she has arranged to travel.
    b) any close relative or business associate of the Proposer or of any person with whom he/she has arranged to travel or arranged to meet at the specified holiday establishment. We will require appropriate documentary evidence of illness or bodily injury from a registered medical practitioner. This evidence must state that the Proposer is unfit to travel.

    2. Jury service, witness call or unemployment through redundancy of the Proposer after the date of booking and prior to the commencement date of the holiday.

    3. Fire or theft which is the subject of an insurance claim at the Insured’s main residence or business premises within seven days before commencement of the holiday.

    4. Occupational postings not contemplated at the time the holiday is booked.

    5. Cancellation or curtailment of scheduled transport services due to strikes, riots or civil commotion, but limited to the cost of alternative transport up to £50 per person for the outward journey only.

    But not, however:

    B:
    1. Disinclination to travel.

    2. Failure of public or private transport.

    3. Suicide, attempted suicide, insanity, the influence of intoxicating liquor or the effect of drugs not taken in accordance with treatment prescribed and directed by a qualified medical practitioner or booking a holiday which is or would be against the advice of a registered medical practitioner.

    4. Pregnancy unless problems occur which prevent the person travelling. A  verification must be signed by a registered medical practitioner to this effect

    5. Any loss which is otherwise insured.

    6. Holiday accommodation booked outside Great Britain, Northern Ireland, Isle of Man and the Channel Islands
